BarCode Traders Portable Barcode Inventory Scanner Kit (v1.0)
We have a great solution for inventory scanning using a low cost refurbished Symbol laser data terminal.
The complete kit includes a mobile laser scan gun pre-loaded with our easy to configure software.
The inventory scanner allows you to scan "SKU" (stock keeping unit, your part # etc), and optionally, you can turn on "QTY", and three other fields that you name. Advanced features allow you to setup any of the 3 additional fields to be "remembered" fields for auto-input of repetitive data.
Once you get the data scanned in, you can download to the PC and get a .csv file which can be imported into many database programs, systems, or, most popular, import it into Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
While it is a great way to take physical inventory it is simple. Each file you get from the gun is a new file, it doesn't "Update" the data on the PC and it doesn't TRACK your inventory, it simply allows you to scan your stuff, import it into the PC and you handle it from there!
Once you download your data, you can simply open it with Excel, Access, or import it to any other system that accepts industry standard comma delimited files (CSV files).

1) Symbol PDT3100 laser scan terminal (refurbished), full alpha/numeric keypad, 8 line display, battery.
2) Scan software, with scan/sku field, up to 3 more, user fields, qty field, plus scan timestamp option.
3) PC download software, communications/charge cradle, cable, user manual, 1 year warranty.
You can also rent or purchase additional scan guns without the cable or manual, for use in a team physical inventory.

System Requirements: PC Download software will work on Win95/98/XP/DOS environment with a serial port (COM1/COM2).
